Brand New has entered the studio in Oxford, Missisippi to begin work on their upcoming debut for Universal. The band signed to Dreamworks in 2003, and that label was bought out by Universal shortly thereafter. The signing came shortly after the release of their album, Deja Entendu.

The band will be recording at the Sweet Tea studio with producer Dennis Herring. The band promises to document the process with a studio journal which will presumably appear on their website.

Other than "a show or two" in Oxford, the band has no touring plans for the next few months and plans to work on the record for a 2006 release.
