After speaking to MTV on the subject of his band, Angels and Airwaves:

There's never been a band from America that sounded like this. Pink Floyd, the Cure, the Police, U2, Coldplay -- they all come from Europe -- and this band, it has the conceptual depth of Pink Floyd, it has the anthemic architecture of U2 but it has the energy and youthful vibrancy of Blink.

and that the album will be "the greatest album of my career," former Blink 182 guitarist has dialed back some of the superlatives with a statement in his journal:

By the way, when I Say I'm the 'second coming of Christ', just remember, I also said the last Blink record was going to create world peace. I guess jokes don't print well.

Delonge also addresses some articles, including a recent piece in Kerrang which suggests some animosity between the guitarist and his former bandmates. According to that piece, he says that "I wouldn't want to be in their situation when this record comes out next year."

Also in the works to complement the album is a full length film which shares his band's title. According to Tom, the film aims to follow in the footsteps of Pink Floyd's The Wall, it will document the breakup of "one of the biggest bands in the world" and the creation of the "world's greatest rock band.." He explained that the film is a "documentary about the past year of my life. "

The former Blink 182 guitarist has apparently been working on the band for the past six months while the group is on an indefinite hiatus.They will release Greatest Hits on November 1st. They released their last record, Blink-182 in 2003.
