DeSoto Records (owned by ex-Jawbox husband and wife team Kim Coletta and Bill Barbot) has announced plans to release a children's compilation. Spearheaded by Coletta, who calls the project both a "pain in the ass" and a "labour of love," the "upbeat" compilation is expected to include 15 songs, with nine confirmed so far.

Contributors include Young Fresh Fellows, Channels with Damon Locks, Soccer Team, Sgt. Major, Mudhoney, Supersuckers, Georgie James (John Davis of Q and Not U) with Laura Burhenn), The Cassettes, and Ben Davis. Tracks are also expected from Mirah with Tara Jane O'Neill, Anna Oxygen, Catfish Haven, Visqueen, Mary Timony and John Doe.

Plans are to have the album released in summer 2006 and Coletta adds "I suspect you might even enjoy it if you don't have kids. I know I've been listening a lot…even when my son Nick is not in the car."
