As you may have noticed by that thing stuck on your wall. It is now December 31st, 2005, at least on this side of the pond. It'll be the 1st in England in about an hour, it's just past midnight in Germany and was New Year's Day hours ago in Australia. In any case, it will be or is 2006. The internet is weird.

With the year wrapping up, it seems like a good time to look back at the many achievements - artistic and otherwise - that took place. Since we only really know about music though, we've prepared some lists of our favourites in that area.

Similarly, we wouldn't be here without readers, so a big thanks to everyone who visited the site, contributed a story or had a comment to share. We have some interesting things coming up in the new year, so I hope you'll stick around and check those out.

I also want to send a special thanks to our wonderful reviewers, we've almost reached 5000 reviews, and with that milestone almost in our grasp, a heartfelt thanks to both the staff and the many fine writers who send in reviews each day.

Last, I hope you'll all take a moment to raise a glass to all the fine musicians and friends who we've lost this year. There can be no more fitting tribute than to have your life celebrated by your friends and fans.
