The Bronx have wrapped up recording on their Island Records debut and followup to their self titled debut LP.

The band yesterday began their tour with High On Fire, Buried Inside and Big Business and on the tour, they plan to debut the first two issues of their magazine, Social Club.

The band explained the project:

Social Club started right about the time we figured out that making big long expensive records for big time labels isn't as much fun as it might seem; not really the good time, easy-does-it roll in the hay its cracked up to be. So, we decided to start making our own records again. Literally. By making - we mean make - record, mix, press and print them ourselves. We dont even play on half of them because were that good - we get other people to do stuff for us.

This is an experiment of sorts, what other people sound like playing and/or singing our songs in an environment that has no expectations. no bar to meet, no fuckheads to answer to, just a bunch of people that like to make music and… well, make music the old fashioned way. Together. All ideas are explored and listened to, all songs are recorded to the satisfaction of the guest, all songs are collaborations. there are no swinging dicks of ego, there is no second guessing, there is no contemplation just pure unbridled creativity

Each issue will be limited to 250 copies, and released as 7-inch's only. The project has a number of participants lined up for what they hope will be a monthly series, including Queens (the band lists them as 'Kings') of the Stone Age, Los Lobos, ST, the Distillers, the Icarus Line, 400 Blows and Louis XIV. The first track from that magazine can be streamed from the band's myspace page and features Keith Morris (Black Flag, Circle Jerks)

Island has set a "Summer 2006" release for the full length.
