The previously announced celebration of the 2-Tone era of British ska kicked off Monday courtesy of the BBC branch in Coventry & Warwickshire. Events celebrating the scene's history in the area, in particular the 26th anniversary of Coventry's Too Much, Too Young Live, will run until February 5th. Celebrations commenced on Monday with local music affectionado Pete Chambers hosting a walking tour of the city's "2-Tone trail" as well as a radio interview with Special Brew. A February 2nd show will feature performances by Selecter guitarist Neol Davies (as part of the 3 Minute Heroes) and Specials members Roddy "Radiation" Byers (with the Skabilly Rebels) and Neville Staple. Upcoming events, many of them in the form of radio programs streamable from the BBC's event site, are detailed on the CovMusic.net website.
