Earache act Cult Of Luna have wrapped up recording on the follow up to 2004's Salvation. The Swedish outfit has titled the album Somewhere Along the Highway and are aiming for an April 24th, 2006 release.

The band picked an interesting location for recording, what they described as:

A wooden octagon barn outside Umeå. The scenery out there is seriously like in that Blair Witch movie, we even saw a "wicca-witch type looking girl" doing some freebase hippie dancing in the woods at one point. We think she suspected that she was be being watched so we never saw her again. Bummer.

Most of the basic tracks were recorded live, which is a quite different approach compared to the previous albums. Expect a raw and unpolished album this spring.

The band finished up the vocals and some other elements at Tonteknik studios.
