Chicago-based hardcore punk label Hewhocorrupts Inc. have announced plans for their first festival. Titled Hewhocorrupts Inc presents: Interruptions in Corporate Quality A Benefit for Punk Planet, the three night fest will feature Unlucky Atlas, Hewhocorrupts, Sweet Cobra, Phoenix Bodies, Nude Celebs, Kungfu Rick, Damnation AD, Holy Roman Empire, Righteous Jams, (Lone) Wolf & Cub, Tower of Rome, and a mini-film fest on the initial night of the fest.

The event will take place between April 20th to April 22nd and will benefit Punk Planet magazine. The magazine ran into trouble last year when it's distributor, BigTop Newstand Services ran into cash problems.

The first night, 'Sit Back & Relax', showcases the visual artistic works from artists on the Hewhocorrupts Inc roster. This event, taking place at South Union Arts, marks the debut of the Holy Roman Empire "Guards Off" music video, a Hewhocorrupts PSA, and footage from the Hewhocorrupts 2005 European tour. In addition, random footage from Hewhocorrupts, Holy Roman Empire, Tower of Rome, and other Hewhocorrupts Inc artists will weave in and out throughout the night. What's Missing From Your Life (featuring Paul Degan of defunct Hewhocorrupts Inc act John Brown Battery) and Unlucky Atlas play acoustic between film sets.

The second night, 'Lessons in Abusing One's Liver', attempts to create a memorable evening through the consumption of a great deal of alcohol. Taking place at the Mutiny, THE definitive dive bar in Chicago with a capacity of less than 100 and the home to world's BIGGEST urinal, the event features grind core kings Hewhocorrupts (Hewhocorrupts Inc / 625 Thrash), local metal gods Sweet Cobra (Seventh Rule Recordings), Indiana's Phoenix Bodies, and newcomers Nude Celebs (featuring Ben Phillips and Andrew Jakus, formerly of Hewhocorrupts Inc act Not Enough Gold). Lesson participants should expect a hangover the following morning.

The final night, 'A Night of Pummeling Conclusions', brings together an odd array of diverse hardcore / metal / indie rock from both a national and local standpoint to Chicago's infamous Metro. Kungfu Rick (625 Thrash, Robotic Empire, etc.) reunites for one night only. Damnation AD (Jade Tree, Revelation) plays its first Chicago show in over six years. The remainder of the impressive lineup includes Holy Roman Empire (Hewhocorrupts Inc), Righteous Jams (Kung Fu Records), (Lone) Wolf & Cub (Hewhocorrupts Inc, record release show), and Tower of Rome (Hewhocorrupts Inc). The extremely eclectic lineup hopes to shine a spot on an ever-evolving web of stale show lineups brought about by lucrative package tours.

The series of events aspires to benefit the recently struggling independent publication Punk Planet. Based in Chicago, Punk Planet has remained a shining beacon of hope to general fans of independent culture throughout its twelve (12) years in existence. Continuing struggles with the last national independent periodicals distributor have lead to grave financial troubles as well as concerns for the future of the independent press.
