Ferret's influential metalcore act, Zao has been forced to drop off the Ferret Under the Gun tour due to injury sustained by frontman Daniel Weyandt. Weyandt broke four bones in his left-hand in a back-stage mishap that also also involved a large cut that exposed one bone for over 12 hours and became infected. Had he gone to the hospital any later than he did he could have lost his hand entirely. Three different doctors ordered the singer, who strongly wished to complete the tour, to return home immediately and visit a specialist.

The band was touring in support of their sophomore full length for the label. The Fear Is What Keeps Us Here due out June 13th. They worked on it with legendary producer Steve Albini. Albini, a veteran producer who was responsible for major releases from Nirvana and the Pixies, also handled a number of underground favorites like records from Neurosis, Slint, Pegboy, F-Minus and The Ex.

The band's June headlining tour appears to be going on as scheduled.
