Strike Anywhere have posted the first of many promised studio updates as they begin recording with Brian McTernan for their Fat Wreck debut.

The outspoken and "completely irresistable" band had this to say:

At the moment , and for the past two days, we have been getting drum sounds ( painstaking and rewarding ), and tracking the songs, all together . We are charging through these first five ( so far ) , hearing the sounds crash and reflect off the cinderblocks, sweating, smiling and feeling good. There is a lot of energy, it feels like a good rehearsal or a fun show that we play for each other and the Salad Days animals. Brian McTernan's cats ( Popeye and Guy ) are our alarm clocks and managers. howling in the morning to wake us up and giving us purrs and pounds to reward us when we nail a song. Smith, Sherwood, Garth and I finished writing the final song yesterday. While Eric and Brian were getting sounds, we played on the rooftop - all acoustic guitars and gang choruses. That's all for now. Wish us luck.

The band will be playing the Ottobar in Baltimore on April 13th and expects to be premiering some of the twenty new songs they are bringing into the studio. They've also added dates at the Che Cafe in San Diego and the Chain Reaction in Anaheim surrounding their dates in Los Angeles with Rise Against.

The band released a compilation of their early work, To Live In Discontent, last year and their previous full length Exit English in 2003.
