Blonde Redhead recently told Billboard.com that their follow-up to 2004's Misery Is A Butterfly is almost finished. Kazu Makino (vocals, guitar) told the website the new album features less weird instruments and opts for layering techniques:

It sounds simple, but its not that simple. There are lots of guitars. We use samples and drums and layer a lot of vocals. Normally I do just one vocal, but some are harmonizing, some are double vocals -- almost identical -- and it sounds clearer.

The currently untitled album is expected to be released early next year through 4AD Records.
