All Our Power conference details schedule

The recently announced All Our Power conference has confirmed the full schedule for this weekend's activities. The event is a punk-activist conference whose mission is to educate, mobilize, and connect people from the punk community and to help encourage activism, has announced a conference set to take place in DC from October 6th through the 8th.

The three day event will include a number of panels including "Counter-recruitment/Anti-War," "Examples of Punk Activism," "Connecting to Unions & the Working Poor," "Reproductive Rights" and many other topics.

Each day will end with a performance as well, with the first night featuring Channels, Medications and Victory at Sea, the second featuring Travis Morrison (ex-Dismemberment Plan) and the third featuring Head-Roc and others TBA.

All Our Power conference, Day 1
October 6, 2006

It's finally here! The All Our Power conference begins today at noon with a check-in period at Catholic Worker/Gray Panthers office in the Arthur S. Flemming Center. This is followed by a Keynote Panel in the Community Room of the Arthur S. Flemming Center, an acoustic benefit show for the Brian Mackenzie Infoshop in the same room, and a late concert at the Black Cat. See details below.

Check-in: Noon-6pm @ Catholic Worker/Gray Panthers office in the Arthur S. Flemming Center (use 1422 9th Street NW entrance, near corner of 9th and P Streets NW, near Shaw/Howard metro). Here is where you receive your conference booklet (including maps, places to eat, things to do in DC). Check-in then moves to the Center's Community Room at 6pm until 9:30pm, and then moves to the Black Cat until around midnight.

Keynote Panel: "Keeping Our Eyes On The Prize: Bridging Communities, Building a Majority Movement" @ 6:30pm @ Arthur S. Flemming Center community room (1426 9th St NW). Panel starts at 6:30 sharp.

Acoustic Show: 8-10pm @ Arthur S. Flemming Center (1426 9th St NW), benefit for the Brian Mackenzie Infoshop
Featuring: Max Levine Ensemble (local political pop-punk, playing acoustic!!!), Rachel Jacobs (local awesomeness), Bears Kill Cops (Ann, playing guitar and singing, w/ special guest drummer)
Cost: $3-5 sliding scale

Electric Show: doors at 9:30pm @ Black Cat (1811 14th St. NW)
Featuring: Medications (Dischord), Victory at Sea (from Boston), Mass Movement of the Moth (Exotic Fever)

FUNDI: The Ella Baker Story â€" A powerful one hour documentary on the legendary catalyst of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, community organizer, and tireless fighter against injustice everywhere.
DON'T NEED YOU: the Birth of Riot Grrrl (2001) â€" Insightful and moving half hour documentary on the creation of Riot Grrrl in Washington DC and Olympia, WA in 1991-92, done by DIY punk filmmaker Kerri Koch. Features interviews with Allison Wolfe, Kathleen Hanna, Ian MacKaye, Corin Tucker and other key participants.
