Photographer documents the dismantling of CBGB

Photographer documents the dismantling of CBGB
Contributed by FlashAmI, Posted by Aubin Paul CBGB 19 years ago

The Punk Site's resident photographer recently took a trip to New York City to watch the dismantling of legendary punk venue, CBGB.

You can check out the photos here.

CBGB opened in December of 1973, and was a crucial part of the scene that gave birth to the Ramones, Television, Richard Hell and the Voidoids, Blondie, the Talking Heads and many others. CBGB will relocate to Las Vegas in the near future, but whether that venture captures the spirit of the original remains to be seen.
