Jim Ward of Sparta and formerly of At the Drive-In and poet Bobby Byrd have completed their project together.

Ward mentioned the project recently in his interview with Punknews.org, and the collaboration represents a combination of Ward's music and Byrd's prose.

According to the label, the idea had always stuck with Ward to make an album with Byrd in the style of the Beat Generation, but revisited and revamped for modern times. Noted Beat poet Jack Kerouac took a similar approach with his 1959 release, Poetry For The Beat Generation which featured accompaniment by Steve Allen.

The disc was released on Ward's Doghouse imprint, Civil Defense League, and you can check out some the music on the myspace page set up for the project.
