Details about The Stooges' brand new record, titled The Weirdness have come in. The record will be released March 20 via Virgin Records. The album marks the seminal band's first proper release in almost 34 years.

This album features three of the four original band members - Iggy Pop, guitarist Ron Asheton and drummer Scott Asheton, and the ex-Minutemen and fIREHOSE bassist Mike Watt fills in the final spot.

The band will start touring in support of the album this spring. Along the way are plans to stop for a peformance at this year's South by Southwest festival in Austin, TX on March 17th.
