Alexisonfire, Malajube, Cancer Bats, Sadies pick up CMW Indie Awards

by Adam White 19 years ago

Canadian Music Week kicked off in Toronto with an awards ceremony for Canadian independent musicians dubbed (rather uncreatively) The Indies. Tokyo Police Club picked up the three thousand dollar "Galaxie Rising Stars Award," while Alexisonfire picked up Chart Magazine's "Favourite Album Of The Year" and XM Satellite Radio's "Favourite Group Of The Year." Additional awards went to City and Colour, Malajube, the Sadies, Cancer Bats and recent Epitaph signee Cadence Weapon among others.

You can check out the full list at CBC Radio 3.
