Ozzy, Lamb of God, Hatebreed, The Showdown, to headline free Ozzfest

The first batch of bands has been announced for this year's free Ozzfest tour. The event will be headlined by tour mastermind Ozzy Osbourne and both Lamb of God and Lordi have been confirmed for the main stage. The tickets will be made available for download on June 12th, 2007.

The second stage has confirmed Hatebreed, Mondo Generator, Nile, Ankia, Circus Diablo and The Showdown. As reported earlier, tour organizers have decided to eschew traditional tickets this year in favour of a advertising-support model. The idea has not been without it's share of detractors however, who argue that the free tour will pose very real problems for artists aiming for a position in summer's festival tours.
