Self-anointed "King of Crunk" L'il Jon has enlisted a number of figures from the punk and rock communities for his next album. In a recent interview, Jon waxes poetically on his love of the Bad Brains and how they continue to influence him:

Well, my favorite band is Bad Brains. When I was younger I used to listen to a lot of punk. Bad Brains to the Pistols -- even Minor Threat. I used to skate.

To that end, he has tapped producer Rob Cavallo, responsible for most of Green Day's major label releases, as well as P.O.D.'s guitarist Marcos Curiel..

Finally, it looks like the collaborations with Whole Wheat Bread announced recently will be appearing on the record:

I got this band I found on My Space called Whole Wheat Bread," he says. "I ended up collaborating with them and doing some hot records for the album. One thing that drew me to them is they're from Jacksonville, Florida and it's an all-black band. There aren't many southern, punk black bands.
