Sumerian Records has announced the signing of Atlanta-based band Kenotia. Sumerian founder Ash Avildsen commented on the band:

Janis Joplin and Stevie Nicks are two of my favorite female singers…. because of their lyrics, the emotion in their voices that make you believe what they're singing, and the fact that they both fronted bands that wrote memorable and infectious music. From the first moment I heard Kenotia, I got chills and felt the same energy. I've waited a long time to find a band that had these same incredible qualities.

The band will be part of the "This is Why Wur Hott" Hot Topic-sponsored full US Tour for all of July & August w/ Dance Gavin Dance, A Skylit Drive, Pierce The Veil and LoveHateHero. The group's debut album, You've Dug Your Grave, Now Lie in It will hit stores in late September, and two tracks from the record can be heard at their MySpace page.
