Apparently according to an unspecified national newspaper blurb, The Mars Volta (ex At the Drive-In, Long Beach Dub All Stars, Royal Trux) has signed to a new division of Universal Records. A reader has said that he was informed by Omar that the band would be staying with Gold Standard Labs, who just released an EP for the band… Update: I've removed the Yellowcard information at the request of the band. As nothing is confirmed, they don't want rumours flying around. They did promise to let me know what, if anything is going to happen. - Aubin

Finally, Thursday is said to be in negotiations with Island Records/Def Jam (who currently have signed Sum 41 and Autopilot Off). As usual, none of this stuff has been confirmed one way or another. In fact this all may be false and we’d be glad to post any updates from the bands or labels that clear anything up.
