Strung Out have set a title and release date for their forthcoming rarities collection. The record is titled Prototypes and Painkillers and is due out February 3, 2009. The album will be the second such compilation from the band who previously compiled material on The Skinny Years: Before We Got Fat in 1998.

The band released their last studio album, Blackhawks Over Los Angeles, in 2007.
