Launch.Com is reporting that ex-Weezer bassist Mikey Welsh, who abruptly left the group last year and checked in to a Boston psychiatric hospital, has resurfaced in the new band called the Kickovers. The band's will release their debut album, "Osaka", this april on Fenway Recordings. The Kickovers also includes Mighty Mighty Bosstones guitarist Nate Albert, and Bosstones drummer Joe Sirois and guitarist Johnny Rioux (who has played with Mike Ness). Officially Albert's sideproject, the band is said to "dutifully paying homage to the soundtrack of [Albert's] youth --the Replacements, Husker Du, the Pixies, Blondie, and, yes, AC/DC."
