EW has a status update from the Beastie Boys on their new album. The album is their eighth and the magazine spoke to Adam "MCA" Yauch:

It's a pretty weird record. [The album will feature] a lot of rhyming and playing and sampling--all combined. We still have a good time working together. It's fun to be able to reinvent yourself every time

The record is headed for a Summer or Fall 2009 release. The group recently released a remastered and expanded version of their 1989 classic, Paul's Boutique.
