Jemina Pearl has announced her solo debut. Pearl was the vocalist of Be Your Own Pet and will be releasing Break It Up on October 6, 2009. The record was produced by John Agnello and promises a sound which "[harkens] back to the sound of the 1960s Shangri Las and 1970s Avengers and Undertones. "

the first single from the record, "I Hate People" features proto-punk legend Iggy Pop and it can be heard on her myspace page.
