The Misfits have announced that a new single titled Land Of The Dead will be released in time for Halloween. The two song, 12 inch LP maxi-single will be the band's first new studio release since 2003's Project 1950. Both new songs, "Land of the Dead" and "Twilight of the Dead" were written by Jerry Only and were inspired by George Romero's zombie films. The release will feature a new cover painting by artist Arthur Suydam (of Marvel Comics' Marvel Zombies fame). More details on the various editions to be released can be found on the band's website.

The Misfits previously announced a huge fall tour of Mexico, Canada and the US. The long running band exists as a three piece these days consisting of bassist Jerry Only backed by former Black Flag members Dez Cadena and Robo.
