Green Day's live album, first teased at a performance in August, is slated for release on March 15, 2011. Titled Awesome as Fuck, retailers like Amazon are listing the album as a CD+DVD and some sources contend that the DVD portion will feature two performances recorded in Tokyo, Japan.

The CD portion is expected to include songs from a variety of venues recorded during the band's 21st Century Breakdown tour with AFI. The album will be their second live album, with the previous Bullet in a Bible [CD/DVD] released in 2005 and coinciding with the band's touring for their previous album American Idiot. In 2010, an official Broadway cast recording of American Idiot: The Broadway Musical was released as well.

The title of the album seems to stem from a tradition at Green Day shows.
