In other End Records news, our compilation Empty Hearts, Broken Bottles is still coming out. Now essay's on punk rock, love lost, and love gained are included from such notable peeps as Brendan Kelly (Slapstick, Broadways, Lawrence Arms), Mike Park (Asian Man Records), Jonathan Gill (Truepunk.com), and hopefully more.

Darlington actually broke up for almost a year and quit touring, so many people have forgotten some of their accomplishments. Here's a brief Darlington history to refresh some of your memories:

:: 1995 -Christy Brigitte Darlington & Stevey Stress form a band. They call the band "Mess". They record and release songs on compilations and 7 inch. The Dallas Observer nominates them as "Best New Act" in the Observer Music Awards.

:: 1996 -Last Beat Records signs them to a deal. They release more 7" and comp tracks and their first full length record, "Pretty Ugly".

:: 1997 -They tour the U.S.A. most of the year, and release more compilation tracks and 7" ers. The song "Holly" reaches #8 on CMJ music magazine's college cuts chart. Howard Stern spins the song "Marcia Brady" on his show. They perform a concert at Terrell Texas State Mental Hospital. They win the award for "Band of the year" at the Orbit Room's Uranus awards.another group called "Mess" who has the name trademarked threatens the group with a lawsuit. a new band name is chosen, and they record the album "Girltroversy".

:: 1998 -"Girltroversy" is released. They tour the U.S.. Many tracks receive radio play. The group is nominated for more Observer awards. The Ft. Worth weekly nominates the single "Judy Jetson" for "Best song" in its music awards. They perform a second concert at Terrell state hospital to over 100 patients.

:: 1999 -Melted Records releases the full length "Mess you up" in honor of the old "Mess" Days. They tour the U.S. again.Mutant pop records releases the "Bowling Betty" 7" EP.

:: 2000 -Melted Records releases the "Split" CD with The Huntingtons and they tour the U.S. again. After the U.S. tour they leave for their first European tour. Mutant Pop records releases the full length "Live Dallas 1999" cd.

:: 2001 -The usual comp tracks and 7" ers are released.

:: 2002 -End Records releases the full length "Louder than Morrissey" worldwide (except in Europe where it is released by Stardumb). They tour Europe for the second time. More 7" ers are released.
