The Washington City Paper is reporting that the five DC9 staff members arrested in connection with the death of Ali Ahmed Mohammed last October following an Agnostic Front show will not be facing criminal charges. The US Attorney's office had officially dropped the charges back in November and has now closed the investigation due to insufficient evidence. An autopsy conducted by the District of Columbia Office of the Chief Medical Examiner revealed the alleged assault taken out by the DC9 employees was not the cause of death. Here's an excerpt of a statement released by the US Attorney's office:

"The autopsy findings confirmed that there were no significant physical injuries to Mr. Mohammed, and certainly none consistent with being beaten. The only injuries observed were consistent with being held on the ground. The cause of death was listed as excited delirium, associated with heart defects, alcohol intoxication and physical exertion with restraint. In light of all the evidence, the medical examiner observed no physical injuries that reasonably could be associated with criminal homicide charges. The independent forensic pathologist agreed with this determination."

With criminal charges being dropped, it appears Mohammed's family will pursue civil action. Read the full report here.
