Q: Do you think Brett Gurewitz is being completely geniune when he claims to sign bands he enjoys given some are obviously terrible? I don't want to believe he likes Falling In Reverse. A: I honestly think we're in no position to question his interest in the bands he signs. I certainly don't like every band he signs but I don't need to. As for Mr. Gurewitz personal taste, it's entirely possible that he likes bands that you or I may consider terrible.

Just try this exercise, think of running your own record label and being able to put out any band/artist you like who is still active. What would your label look like? Chances are it's going to either look exactly like another popular labels roster (all No Idea bands) or it's going to be a muddled hodge podge of bands who probably don't share the same fan base at all. Personally mine would have acts like: Third Eye Blind
The Holy Mess
Bomb the Music Industry!
Astronautalis
Adel
Comadre
Fake Problems
and a bunch of other bands who's fans may or maynot like each other. I'm not saying my taste is incredibly diverse or "underground" but if you like enough music you're bound to enjoy some bands that may not be liked in the same circles.
