Punknews.Org received a report from a reader this morning that the Suicide Machines had announced their signing to SideOneDummy Records. I got in touch with Side One this afternoon and here was there response:

"Yes, we have just signed The Suicide Machines. I can't even explain how fuckin' crazy excited we are! Everyone here at SideOneDummy has been, and are HUGE fans of the Machines. We are looking forward to releasing, what we know will be, another killer Suicide Machines album."

This will be the Machines first full length release on an independent label after a four releases on Hollywood Records (owned by Disney). They join bands such as the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Kill Your Idols and Flogging Molly on the label. SideOneDummy's press release puts a Spring 2003 release date on the band's 5th full length. Here's a comment from Dan of the Machines ""I'm extremely happy to be working with people who I've been friends with for many years. SideOneDummy has an awesome roster of bands and they're definitely one of the hardest working and most organized labels in the business right now. I'm stoked and glad to get the opportunity to make records with some great people."
