Johnny Marr of The Smiths has yet again quashed rumours of a Smiths reunion. The rumours begin after a British music site posted a definitive story titled "The Smiths to reform" which they apparently conjured out of the air. Marr responded with little ambiguity:

The rumour of the Smiths reunion is untrue. It's not happening

Members have turned down vast sums of money and remain undeterred by the annual cycle of reformation rumors. Plus, Morrissey is busy comparing mass murder to fast food and suing newspapers. Marr, for his part, has taken a slightly less controversial path, criticizing the British prime minister, giving thoughtful interviews, teaching classes, and joining indie rock bands.
