us with a letter was sent out to The Fold's mailing list explaining changes in the band. Apparently Dan found Jesus and decided that he could no longer be in the group. For the record, The Fold was the new band from ex-members of Showoff and the Juliana Theory. Click READ MORE to read the whole letter [and then don't forget to post a comment mocking organized religion, because that's all you guys will do anyways].

Hello Everyone. To those who haven't heard, The Fold is going through some major changes. For those who HAVE heard, I'm sure you've all been expecting an explanation of what's been going on. I've seen people pinning the blame on the wrong people, so I should clarify. I expect you to see me (Dan) as the nemesis of this situation; but I suppose I could do no further damage by attempting to explain. I should say that this has NOTHING to do with religion, church, or the way I was raised. I believe the Bible. I never fully did before. I was on my way to hell before. Not a pleasant thought, I agree, but still true. I realized that I could no longer serve myself before God, and this new focus brought about a whole slew of major changes. The songs were changing, and so was my heart. Jesus changed me inside out, and all I want to do are the things that make him happy. Not because I HAVE to, but because I WANT to. Understand that while we are on this earth, we're serving somebody. If it's not God, then we serve the devil by default. When we hand our lives back to God, he gives us a heart with a passion to please Him. With this new heart, I was becoming increasingly uncomfortable with the idea of being in a strictly secular band. You see, all that was inside of me wanted to tell people about Jesus, and it would be wrong to do that in a band with people who didn't feel the same. I spoke to the band about this, and through time I found it just wouldn't have been fair to expect the kind of change that would be necessary in order for us to stand united as a band needs to stand. To go onstage with mixed motives would be against everything this band was founded upon. Kyle, Neil, Chris and Magoo have been AMAZING through all of this, proving that friendship always was first in this band. I've been grieving over the best way to put this to you, the listeners. I'm not really sure what to call it myself. I wouldn't call it a break-up, but time is certainly needed in a situation like this. In the meantime, I am asking God in prayer where I can be used for His will. I am still writing music, but it will be created only for the glory of God, and not for personal honor, or stature. The name The Fold may or may not be used again. It always had a spiritual meaning to me, especially now that I have been born again; but these things are small in comparison with eternity. I understand that I will be hated for this, but I can't think of anyone else I'd rather be hated for.
