If you've been following this site for a decent amount of time, you know that we've been rabid supporters of the THICK Records compilation "OIL: Chicago Punk Refined," coming out this Tuesday, February 11th. Featuring exclusive songs from such Chicago punk luminaries like Alkaline Trio, The Lawrence Arms, Duvall, Rise Against, Bob Nanna [of Hey Mercedes/Braid], and many more, this CD is a snapshot of the past, present, and future of Chicago music.

What's that, you want to hear it before buying it? Well then! This upcoming Tuesday, February 11th, we will be having an online OIL listening party on my radio show, between 10pm-midnight CST. We will be playing the entire CD track by track, and will hopefully be lucky enough to have some of the bands call in and tell us about their recording experiences as well [if you're in one of said bands, get in touch with me].
