Ladyfest Philly, a nonprofit festival for women in the arts, has announced more confirmed performers and artists who will participate in the festival showcasing women in the arts to be held from March 20th to 23rd, 2003 in Philadelphia. Philadelphia Weekly has also recently contributed to the festival by becoming its main sponsor. Ladyfest Philly was recently awarded a grant from the Bread and Roses Community Fund, a unique partnership of donors and activists committed to supporting social change in the Delaware Valley. Other Ladyfests organized by women around the globe have taken place in San Francisco, DC, London, Belgium, Chicago, Olympia, WA, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York.

All profits raised from Ladyfest Philly will be donated to two local organizations who serve women in Philadelphia and the surrounding communities. Women's Anti-Violence Education (WAVE) teaches practical, supportive and empowering safety and self-defense skills to women, girls and other populations vulnerable to assault such as sexual minorities, people with disabilities and immigrants. The Greater Philadelphia Women's Medical Fund (GPWMF) provides direct financial assistance to low-income women and girls who wish to terminate an unwanted pregnancy but cannot raise enough funds to obtain a safe, legal abortion.

4-day passes are being offered at $55.00, and 2-day passes for Friday and Saturday are $35.00. Group rates are available for pass purchases of 10 or more. Individual tickets to events will also be available (prices tba).  For more information on ordering tickets via mail or online, go to www.ladyfestphilly.org. Online ticketing is being donated by BuyOlympia.com.
