Dennis Dragon of Surf Punks passes away

Dennis Dragon, founder of the Surf Punks, has passed away. The cause of death was not announced. Surf Punks formed in 1976 in Malibu and released their first album, a self-titled released, in 1979. The band made a name for themselves by blending punk with surf rock with many other genres, while saluting and ridiculing punk rock at the same time. The final Surf Punks album was 1988's Party Bomb. Dragon co-produced a Surf Punks release with Johnny Rivers "Surf's Up Medley," and was the brother of Daryl Dragon (The Captain of Captain and Tennille). See some Surf Punks videos below.
