Hip Hop Pioneer Lovebug Starski passes away
by

Hip Hop pioneer Lovebug Starski passed away earlier this week at age 60. He suffered a heart attack in Las Vegas and died suddenly. Lovebug Starski, not to be confused with Busy Bee Starski, was one of the earliest founders of Hip Hop, and was a part of the scene in its earliest form in the Bronx, while disco was changing into the earliest stages of Hip Hop. Starski was both an emcee and a DJ, and is said to have been one of the first, if not the first, Hip Hoppers to rap and spin records at the same time. You can hear some of his songs below.
