Today, Punknews is pleased to debut the new tune by Big Kizz!

Hailing from Sweden, Big Kizz weld first wave punk ala the Buzzcocks into a gritty, buzzing garage rock chassis. Their new album, Music is Magic finds them galloping around the riotous rock spectrum- taking the spartan three-chord attack from Paul Weller, the acid-washed vision of the Human Beinz, and even a little manic explosiveness from Ray Charles. On top of that, the new album features a re-worked version of the Riot Grrrl classic, "Rebel Girl."

Speaking to Punknews, the band's Axel Sjoberg said, "If you haven't heard about Bikini Kill before, now you have. This is a cover of one of their classics. Playing covers is a tricky bizniz. You wanna honor the song but still add your own touch. In this case, we decided to sing "boy" instead of "girl", for most of the song. The reasoning behind this is that it's more interesting if a grown man sings about wanting to try on his best friend's clothes or that he can taste revolution in his buddies' kizz. But, as we know that it's somewhat of an anthem for a lot of people, we tried to keep the original feeling to it by inviting our friend Lisa to sing on it too. And what job she did. She'll make you shit your pants with her furious voice. As for the music, we jammed a bit and found a way to play it with a bit of a Hawkwind vibe. They're space rebels in their own right, so we thought it was a good fit. Equality now!"

Music is Magic is out this Friday via Tee Pee records and you can pre-order it right here! Meanwhile, check out "Rebel Girl" below right now!
