David Bowie
by

In the early 1960's, David Bowie was the saxophonist in a band called the the Konrads. When Bowie was 16, the group recorded a demo with one vocal track and three instrumentals. Even though Bowie was a saxophonist for the band, they had him sing on “I Never Dreamed.” The band auditioned for Decca, but were rejected and it was thought that the demo was lost.

Meanwhile, drummer David Hadfield of the Konrads actually found a copy of the demo in a breadbox while moving in the 1990s. However, he kept the discovery secret until very recently when he announced that he was going to auction off the recording. The auction will be in September and is expected to hit at around £10,000.
