The Lawrence Arms revealed in a short twitter post that they are working on a new album. Apparently, they already have eight songs either written or recorded, including one cover. The band was also quick to add that the album will have more than eight songs total. Via a brief twitter dispatch, they stated: "8 songs for this new record. One is a cover. Chris is better than ever and beex is deeply disturbed. It’s gonna be wild.It’s not gonna be an 8 song record, dipshits. This is merely a progress report.Oh. It’s not the kinda cover you’re thinkin. You’ll never even know which one it is."

The band released the compilation We Are The Champions Of The World: The Best Of in 2018.
