After getting four denials from Vernon, NY to their permit petitions, Woodstock 50 is packing up and moving elsewhere. As of today, the event is planning to throw the event at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Maryland. Right now, the event is scheduled to take place August 16 through 18, to a crowd of about 32,000 people. Howard county, where MPP is located, seems excited to hos tthe event. In a latter, Howard County Executive Calvin Ball wrote to Greg Peck, one of the Woodstock organizers: “When we heard that there was an opportunity to save this festival and bring a piece of American history to our community this summer, we jumped at the chance. Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia is a jewel of Howard County and one of the top music venues in the nation. It felt like such a natural fit to host a historic festival on our storied stage.”

However, Jay-Z and John Fogerty are not cool with these plans and have decided to pull out of the event. Both artists have withdrawn from the show and will not be appearing, despite being billed as headliners. Fogerty issued a statement, "John Fogerty knows where he will be for the anniversary weekend of Woodstock. At only one site… at the original one—the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. As (Fogerty) says in his song ‘Who’ll Stop the Rain,’ written upon returning from Woodstock—‘NO MORE CONFUSION ON THE GROUND.’”
