NME is reporting that embattled Libertines frontman Pete Doherty has been sentenced to 6 months in prison after pleading guilty to robbing the home of bandmate (and co-frontman) Carl Barat. Doherty has previously admitted to being addicted to heroin and crack cocaine. He has been absent from the band's recent live shows, which have featured Anthony Rossomando of Big Wheel Recreations' Damn Personals in his place. The sentencing came as a shock, as most involved were expecting Doherty to be receive a fine and time in rehab. Doherty's lawyer Richard Locke is planning to appeal the sentence.
