Rise Against updated their website today. This coming Sunday in Des Moines Iowa, band frontman Tim McIlrath will be appearing with Wayne Kramer of the MC5 and MuscleTone Records, Billy Gould of Faith No More and Kool Arrow Records and Chris #2 of Anti-Flag / A-F Records / Underground Action Alliance. The event (on which I could not find any venue details) is being organized through Punkvoter to promote youth voting in the state. Click below for the full post.

Also below is some info on the first Rock Against Bush compilation, which features many of the same acts and a new Rise Against track "Give It All."

Punk musicians growing political education organization, Punkvoter.com, is taking their message directly to the Iowa Caucuses this weekend. Iowa has great potential for an enormous young voter participation in 2004. According to Zogby Exit Polling in 2002, Iowa's 18-29 year olds were 18% of the general election vote. With more motivation in a presidential year, the youth vote should be an even larger percentage. Punkvoter wants to motivate their fans to get involved and also remind the politicians in the beginning of the campaign year not to ignore young voters.

Scheduled to appear in Iowa on Sunday are: Wayne Kramer, founding member of legendary punk band MC-5 & owner of MuscleTone Records; Billy Gould, founding member of rock band Faith No More and owner of Kool Arrow Records; Tim McIlrath of Chicago’s punk band Rise Against; Christopher #2 of Pittsburgh's punk band Anti-Flag, owner of A-F Records and cofounder of the Underground Action Alliance.

The "Rock Against Bush" compilation consists of Punk legends Wayne Kramer of MC-5, Jello Biafra, punk bands including Bad Religion, NOFX, The Donnas, The Atari's, The Offspring, Green Day, Rise Against, The Lawrence Arm and many more. This Rock Against Bush CD will also include a bonus DVD that will include music videos and ten minute trailers to a number of political documentaries including Robert Greenwald's Uncovered and Unprecedented.

Rise Against recently finished their new song "Give It All" which will appear on the comp.
