Lookout Records has signed Seattle's The Lashes. The label describes them as power pop in the vein of The Cars, Elvis Costello "but with a new twist." Lookout president Christopher Appelgren is quoted in the press release: "I saw The Lashes play in Seattle last year and fell in love with their sound: big crashing melodies, cool keyboard sounds and excellent vocals. The four song CD I received a couple months later spent a lot of time in my player and I am more than excited that Lookout is going to be their home. The Lashes' energy dedication and originality totally justify a special place in your hearts and record collections."

The band will have an EP out in late spring and a full length out shortly after.
