Today it was announced that the Summer of Ska festival, planned for Saturday August 7th in Orange, CA, has been cancelled. According to the official site a lack of needed permits and funding are to blame. Tour updates and news on the bands originally scheduled to perform at the festival, including Streetlight Manifesto, Starpool (ex-Save Ferris and Freakdaddy), The Toasters, and about 20 others will be posted on the Summer of Ska website as the news comes in. From the press release: "Instead of trying to cut it close and have a chance of a last minute cancellation we felt it would be in best interest for the bands to let them have a 2 months notice."
