Dropkick Murphys have recorded a sequel to 1903 Boston Red Sox anthem "Tessie." The band recorded it a few weeks ago and this past Sunday had Red Sox members Johnny Damon, Bronson Arroyo and Lenny Dinardo contribute backing vocals.

The original "Tessie" was sung at Red Sox games to taunt opponents by a group of boisterous fans called the Royal Rooters. After the song debuted in the stands the Red Sox went on to win the next five games and the World Series. "'Tessie' was back in 1903 and they won it that year,'' Murphys vocalist Ken Casey said to the Boston Herald, "So I think this new one could help reverse any potential Curse. We're breaking out some artillery from back before there was a Curse."
