Skottie Lobotomy can’t seem to be in enough bands and for that I am grateful. He might just be Canada’s answer to Mikey Erg. He plays in Crusades, The Visitors, The Creeps, Black Tower and spent some time in The Riptides. Thankfully he is back with a new Creeps full length.

It has been 7 years since The Creeps last full length and Eulogies sort of picks up where Lakeside Cabin left off. This time, however, instead of getting a glimpse into the mind of a murderous psychopath, we get to see the thoughts of a man who seems to suffer from depression, anxiety and nervousness. The music itself is what you would expect from The Creeps, dark, melodic pop punk and the lyrics are somber but catchy. They do a nice job with changing up tempos while still maintaining a cohesiveness throughout the album. Everything on this album is fantastic from the rocking “Off My Guard” to the slower “Cancer.” The only downfall I can find with this record is that the mixing of the record seems a little muddied in some spots but even that doesn’t take anything away from it.

This record wasn’t on many year-end top 10 lists but it really should have been. It’s a perfect addition to an already amazing back catalog for these Canadian punks.
