Loaded Question

A Demo (2014)

Self released

Loaded Question was a four piece rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. They made one demo, and then started a new band, Neverment.  A Demo has elements of pop punk, emo, and indie rock, but it's all wrapped up to sound original and refreshing. Patrick's vocals seem a bit uneven, but that's the charm of it all. The music itself is sloppy and loose sounding, which is exactly how it should sound. The lyrics fit perfectly for their style, and add to the charm of Patrick's voice. "Trees" starts things off, and it's one of the best openers I've ever heard. The chorus is catchy and memorable, while the drumming is original and bizarre. Michael lays down some amazing bass riffs that bring the song to the next level. The guitars always sound crunchy, and they even throw in a solo before the epic group vocals that start off the last chorus. The song ends with a perfectly constructed riff, and depressing feel. "Desperate for Air" follows, and brings the love with some groovy riffs and moments. The chorus is catchy, and will have you singing along in no time. I can imagine this being a live staple, and a crowd singing along to the chorus when it all breaks down. "Grip" starts with acoustic guitar, and really shows you how diverse this group truly is. The full band eventually kicks in, and the song carries a sad emo feel all the way through. It's a much needed moment for the demo, and shows you that this band can mix it up whenever it's necessary. "I'm Fine" starts off like a Blink-182 song, and rocks all the way through. It's a fairly simple pop punk song with some cool drum work and vocal effects. It ends abruptly, and the demo is over. A Demo showcases a really bright future for this four piece, and should get anyone excited for the future of their new band. They showed that they can write some catchy melodies and amazing instrumentals, they just need to wrap it all together to make something truly special. Every member of this band matters, and brings everything they have to the table. A Demo has great songs, and a great sound. An incredible start to this young band from Nevada.
