Another Last Chance (2002)

District 7 is a band that might have released the best album of 2002. District 7 is a melodic punk band from Canada. Canada has brought us such great melodic punk bands as Reset, Belvedere, Downway, and Twenty2. If you like any of the aforementioned bands then this album will not disappoint.

District 7 plays a brand of fast melodic skate punk. This is there first effort, "Another Last Chance", released by Lame*** Records. This CD is filled with fast guitar riffs and catchy choruses. The singer's voice is a little high pitched and usually wouldn't go with this type of music but for some reason his voice fits all too perfect.

The CD starts off with the song, "All Time Low." This song is easily one of the best tracks on the CD. It delivers a message to try your hardest and not to take the easy way out and kill yourself, "Well maybe there's a better way. Before you let it go, there's one thing you should know. You've got so much to offer. Why would you want to throw it all away? Ready or not I'm here for you."

The CD delivers a lot of positive messages and also some political messages as well. Some of the better songs on the CD are, "Price of Perfection", "Yield", "Believe", and "Restart". The only song that isn't that great is the title track "Another Last Chance". The song starts off a little faster then the other songs but this only last for about thirty seconds then they repeat the same line, "One last chance until it's over" about 20 times. The last track on this CD is called, "One Last Song". This song is a stab at the conventional pop-punk you would hear on the radio. Some of the lyrics to this song are, "Change my file, change my style and just say it's ok. Chances are I'll watch the stars from my bedroom window. I'll point out satellites and kiss that girl tonight." I found the song quite amusing. If District 7 keeps going in the direction they're going they will surely blow the melodic punk scene away.
