Bud Bronson and the Good Timers

Escape Your Brain (2019)

Self released

Bud Bronson & the Good Timers’ follow up to their 2018 LP. Its celebratory and kinetic but nostalic. The three songs are well crafted. You notice something different and creative about the song each time you listen. The EP blends pop punk with thin lizzy. The songs showcase what great players comprise the band. Super catchy hooks, neat drum action, and bad ass guitar leads/solos. The song structures flow seamlessly yet sometimes taking you on a wild ride.
The songs are about being stoked for summer, missing the fun of summers past, being too high at rockies games, and wild road trip adventures. the first song “erase your brain” feels like every experience I've had at a major league baseball event: excited, relieved, stoned.  It's just calming watching baseball, ya know ? The songs reference a lot of different Denver and Colorado references but not in an alienating way. These songs could be about any major American city. The lyrics and the music play well off each other and have similar vibes. It makes me miss all the adventures I've had in past summers but grateful to have had them. The EP felt like a friend telling me about this wild weekend adventure they had. It made me jealous I spent the weekend at home depot. Its a good follow up to their 2018 LP. Not as polished as the LP but great nonetheless. If you like Bud Bronson & the Good Timers, you'll love this EP.
