Target Nevada

Something Nasty (2003)

Surprise Attack

There are only two songs on this CD. One is three minutes, and one is four and a half. That being said, this is a decent recording. What you have here is your general tough guy hardcore band. The vocals sort of remind me of ZAO. The guitars are heavy, of course, with predictable high riffs in-between heavy breakdowns, you know, like:

*jug jug* "bee do dee do" *jug-juggity jug jug* "bee do dee do"

The first song, "Dawson's Creek," offers a little more originality than "Roman Suits and Free HBO," which is really typical hardcore. "Dawson's Creek" offers more tempo changes and changes in dynamics. It offers some interest lyrically too. "It's not just the pretty ones who make graves/Who makes graves?/Patsy Kline/ Patsy Kline is no ordinary girl/She has been misspelled for one cryptic reason." Now, i know it's not poetry, or that it even flows together, but I think it's a big step compared to most of your tough guy hardcore bands out there. Hell, their name doesn't have have anything to do with blood or dying.

I wouldn't advise anyone to buy this. It's only got two songs. But you should check this band out. You might like them. I'm just not a huge fan of tough guy hardcore.
